What is Ayurveda?  Ayurveda is more than just a system of treating illness.  The Sanskrit term Ayurveda translates to “knowledge of life” (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). With a unique emphasis on total wellness, the art and science of Ayurveda work to harmonize our internal and external worlds. It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vibrant and healthy while realizing their full human potential.

We have started a collaboration with Vd (Vaidya, Ayurvedic doctor) Bhoelai Shasvin from Asamanya Ayurveda Healing. Vd Bhoelai Shasvin gives ayurvedic consultations which consists of the following:

  • Introduction to the basic principles of Ayurveda and its usefulness in daily life.
  • Intake interview about your health or complaints, medication and / or use of supplements.
  • Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis.
  • If necessary, other examinations are performed, depending on the symptoms to determine the Ayurvedic diagnosis.
  • Your constitution (your personal type) will be discussed in detail based on the pulse diagnosis.
  • Advice will be given on personalized diet, medication and personal lifestyle in combination with yoga and meditation.

To introduce  you to Ayurveda, ALL current and ALL NEW Yogaroom members who sign up will get a FREE ayurvedic consult (15 min) in which your constitution (vata, pitta, kapha) will be determined by means of a questionnaire and also conformation with a pulse diagnosis. Understanding your unique constitution and the specific needs that derive from it, allows you to make optimal choices about diet, exercise, supplements, and all other aspects of your lifestyle.

Vd (Vaidya) Bhoelai Shasvin, is born in Paramaribo, Suriname and lived in Domburg in the district Wanica. His dream has always been to contribute to healthcare. He has studied Ayurvedic science in India and graduated from Sri Dharmastala Manjunateshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital in Hassan, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka India. He is currently studying at Leiden University for his Masters of Science in Vitality and Aging. He is registered in the doctors’ register of India and is also a member of the professional association ANVAG in the Netherlands. Shasvin has worked as a co-assistant in the multi-specialty hospital of S.D.M College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan. In this position he worked as a doctor in the OPD (Outdoor Patient Department) and in IPD (Indoor Patient Department) in the hospital. He also worked as a doctor among specialists from various disciplines. He also assisted with special Ayurvedic treatments according to the writings of Ayurveda. He also assisted with operations both elective and emergency in the O.R.
